J&Q Featured in Screen Video on Color Inkjet!

Color Inkjet Postcards

Johnson & Quin was recently featured in a video produced by Screen Americas, the manufacturer of the Truepress Jet520ZZ High-Speed Color Inkjet Printing System. Since the 1980’s we have embraced the use of personalization for direct mail to help our clients market their products and services using this highly responsive medium. High-speed color inkjet printing presses like Screen’s Truepress have provided J&Q and our clients with the ability to truly talk one to one with consumers – with high color quality at a reasonable cost. The ultimate goal is to increase response and ROI of direct mail programs.

Here are some of the key messages from the video:

According to Andrew Henkel, vice president of sales. “Four-color inkjet is the ideal alternative to traditional offset shell printing and monochrome laser overprinting for meeting our production and quality needs. The latest generation of continuous-feed inkjet equipment produces incredible quality, reduces time to market and has production costs comparable to traditional methods. Preprinted forms will be almost entirely eliminated in the not-so-distant future.”

Our clients are definitely seeing the value and benefits of producing their direct mail programs on the color inkjet.

“Our clients started varying their programs significantly more and faster than we had anticipated,” Bob Arkema, executive vice president said. “They can incorporate very specific offers, copy and images in a single pass through the press. In the past, they were worried about plate change charges and mail streams. We aren’t printing hundreds and thousands of versions yet, but we expect to at some point.”

One of the key advantages is postage savings.

“In the traditional offset print run, each version of a marketing campaign is printed on a separate roll with its own mail stream,” Henkel explained. “With variable inkjet, all versions can be combined into a single size format with one mail sort and production run. This results in a higher concentration of mail going to each postal distribution facility and deeper postage discounts.”
