Capabilities-1

Johnson & Quin has recently released a new video that provides a great overview of our direct mail production services and facility. View the video here.

J&Q has a long history in the printing industry. Nels Johnson founded “McDonald & Johnson”, a small print shop in Chicago in 1876. When Tom Quin joined Nels in the firm in 1896 it became Johnson & Quin. The company has gone through many changes from its beginnings in the 1800’s producing ledgers, accounting forms and other printing for Chicago businesses. Today we produce millions of direct mail packages using high-speed color inkjet presses for clients nationwide.

J&Q has a history of innovation including receiving patents on a “Ruling Board” in 1919 for blank book printing, inventing mounting forms for electrocardiogram printouts for doctors, and replacing letterpress equipment with much faster offset presses, to name just a few. Today J&Q continues to stay on top of the latest technology and invests in new equipment at just the right time. Recent acquisitions of color inkjet presses and postal optimization technology have had an incredible impact, changing the culture at J&Q and providing fantastic benefits for our clients.

Color inkjet presses take rolls of white paper and print full color variable letters, MICR checks and self-mailers. Benefits for our marketing clients include unlimited versioning and variables that tailor each piece to the recipient, elimination of preprinted forms, improved speed to market, production cost savings, and dramatically reduced postal costs by combining multiple mail streams into one.

We combine our color inkjet platform with custom postal analysis resulting in the lowest possible postage and freight costs while meeting in-home dates. When we conduct a postal analysis for new clients, we almost always find savings that reduce costs and highlight the advantages of working with J&Q.

The video provides a window into J&Q’s inner workings – showing some of the people who are instrumental in producing our clients’ programs, as well as the facility where all the magic happens from data processing and management of each program to printing and mailing for the millions of packages that are created at J&Q each year.

If you have questions on our services or would like J&Q to review your direct mail program, contact us at 847.588.4800 or jqinfo@j-quin.com and ask for Sales.
